Vineyard, Viticulture and harvest

The vineyard was planted in 1957 by the family. Elevation 496 m. In the northern slope (5%) of the municipality, with an area of 0.6 ha. Gobelet training of the old vines make the yield of the vineyard very low, giving little more than 3,000 kg / ha. The clay-calcic soils with the presence of pebbles on the surface, are well drained and have a moderate water holding. The precipitation of 2019 was 490.4 mm. The annual average temperature was 14 °C.

The vineyards are worked by the family through sustainable agriculture that respects the environment. Using natural resources, for the control of the vineyard.

The harvest is done manually, collecting the grapes in boxes of 20 Kg. The same night after the harvest, the grapes rest at a temperature of 5º C before entering the cellar.

Elaboration

A very accurate selection of the berries (one by one) take place on the table. Grapes will macerate and ferment during 29 days in a stainless steel tank at controlled temperature. A soft pigeage is given daily to the grapes in order to improve extraction. After a very soft pressing wine rest in new barrel of French oak of fine grained and soft toasted, where it will mature the next four months, until its bottling.
